Nhar il-Ġimgħa 29 ta’ Settembru, il-Kummissjoni Interdjoċesana Ambjent u l-Kummissjoni Ġustizzja u Paċi, f’kollaborazzjoni mal-Patrijiet Franġiskani, organizzaw attività biex ifakkru l-Istaġun tal-Ħolqien 2023.

Madwar ħamsa u sebgħhin persuna kienu preżenti għal din l-attività. Fosthom kien hemm is-sindku tan-Naxxar Anne Marie Muscat Fenech Adami u l-Ministru Provinċjal tal-Franġiskani Fr Anthony Chircop OFM.

Permezz ta’ din l-attivitá, se jkunu qed jingħaqdu ma’ numru ta’ Knejjes Insara madwar id-dinja kollha li bejn l-1 ta’ Settembru u l-4 t’Ottubru ta’ kull sena jfittxu li jqajjmu kuxjenza favur l-għożża tal-Ħolqien.

Ħwejjeġ bl-irħis: Min qed iħallas il-prezz?

On 24 April 2013, 1,134 Bangladeshi garment workers were killed and at least another 2,000 injured in the collapse of the Rana Plaza factory, where clothes ware being made for international fashion brands. Pope Francis condemned the conditions under which these garment workers worked as slave labour.

Ten years later, the fight for a safe and fair work environment continues. Unfortunately, the way we currently make, buy, use and discard our clothes, has not only led to a “business model” that demands that workers work for a pittance in unsafe conditions but is also contributing to the kind of ecological degradation which is destroying our common home… Kompli aqra »

Nhar il-ġimgħa 19 ta’ Mejju, Il-Kap tal-PN Bernard Grech flimkien mad-Deputati Nazzjonalisti Stanley Zammit, Julie Zahra u Janice Chetcuti, iltaqgħu ma’ diversi għaqdiet non-governattivi, fil-Parlament ta’ Malta.

L-għaqdiet non-governattivi preżenti kienu Rota, Flimkien għall-Ambjent Aħjar, The Ramblers’ Association, Din l-Art Ħelwa, Nature Trust Malta, Kummissjoni Ġustizzja u Paċi, Birdlife Malta u Friends of the Earth.
